Since opening its doors in 2003, PS7 has shown steady progress on California API (Academic Performance Index) which measures how all students are performing at the school (APR range =200 to 1000). Since 2006-07, PS7 has seen an API increase of 162 points. In the same time span California schools, on average, have increased their APIs by 50 points, less than one-third of PS7′s increase. Due to the students’ incredible achievement, PS7′s API is now 133 points higher than the state average of 778. In addition, when compared with all schools in the Sacramento Unified School District PS7 currently ranks #4!

PS7′s goal is for all students to be promoted in 8th grade prepared to succeed in a college-prep high school. Our results from the 2010-11 CSTs show that our most recent class of 8th graders are far outperforming their peers in Sacramento! Due to their hard work PS7′s students are beginning high school ahead of many of their counterparts in 9th grade and are well on their way to college.
