This is the beginning of my fourth year at PS7! This year I will be teaching English Language Arts and History to the 8th grade. In the past I have also taught 6th grade English Language Arts and elective classes on Hip-Hop and game strategy. This is the beginning of my 9th year as a teacher overall, and I truly love what I do because I believe that education is the key to eradicating the inequalities that still exist today.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR PS7 EXPERIENCE?
PS7 has given me the best opportunity to achieve my goals. As a teacher I am passionate about giving all of my students the opportunity to have an excellent education that will help them achieve their goals in their lives. PS7’s culture of excellence and fantastic students make this goal a reality every day I’m in a classroom.
WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL GOALS FOR YOUR STUDENTS?
Every year my goal is to have my students grow both in both intellect and character. I’m a firm believer that there’s always room for improvement whether you are an “A” student, or a student who has not been as successful before you step into my class, which means individual goals are always going to be set for each individual student. Overall, I’d like to see every student achieve mastery of all of the standards we have to cover throughout the course of the year. I’d also like to see every student strive to grow as both a student and a person in general during their time in my class. I guarantee every student in my class will be challenged, and also be given the support they need to meet every challenge I present to them.

HOW DO YOU LIKE SPENDING YOUR FREE TIME WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
I spend as much free time as I can with my little ones. Once they’re asleep or at school themselves I enjoy running, making music, and writing poetry.
