I am a Sacramento native. I have always wanted an avenue where I could impact the youth of my hometown. Ps7 is a place where I am allowed to have a direct effect on the future of this community. I am excited that I not only get to teach the students in the classroom but starting this year I will also be the Head Coach of our 8th grade basketball team.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
2004 John F. Kennedy High graduate in South Sac. In 2008 I earned my BS in Business from Hampton University in Virginia.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR PS7 EXPERIENCE?
I like that what we do at Ps7 works. I have so much fun doing what I do and the results show that the students are learning. I couldn’t ask for much more as an educator.
WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL GOALS FOR YOUR STUDENTS?
I am a graduate of an H.B.C.U. (Historically Black College and University). With the demographic of the students at Ps7, my goal is to educate my students on the significance of the H.B.C.U. systems. If my students do not wish to attend an H.B.C.U. when that time comes, it will not be because of lack of exposure.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE?
“Intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character, that is the true goal of education.” - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
HOW DO YOU LIKE SPENDING YOUR FREE TIME WHEN YOU’RE NOT WORKING?
My #1 hobby will always be my interaction with the game of basketball. Whether watching, coaching, or playing, as long as I am around it then I am good to go. I also love to travel, write, and try to make a habit of laughing multiple times a day.
